ABOUT THE LAUNCH

Here at CM'K-O Promotions we aim to host the greatest events of its kind in this area. whilst doing so we will be raising awareness for Mental Health and aim to bring an anti knife crime message to Milton Keynes.

HERE ARE SOME ALARMING FACTS!!!!!!

  • Approximately 1 in 4 people in the UK will experience a mental health problem each year

  • In England, 1 in 6 people report experiencing a common mental health problem (such as anxiety and depression) in any given week.

  • The overall number of people with mental health problems has not changed significantly in recent years, but worries about things like money, jobs and benefits can make it harder for people to cope.

  • It appears that how people cope with mental health problems is getting worse as the number of people who self-harm or have suicidal thoughts is increasing.

  • Every seven years a survey is done in England to measure the number of people who have different types of mental health problems [2]. It was last published in 2016 and reported these figures:

  • Generalised anxiety disorder 5.9 in 100 people

  • Depression 3.3 in 100 people

  • Phobias  2.4 in 100 people

  • OCD 1.3 in 100 people

  • Panic disorder 0.6 in 100 people

  • Post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) 4.4 in 100 people

  • Mixed anxiety and depression 7.8 in 100 people

  • Estimates for bipolar disorder, psychotic disorder and personality disorders are usually measured over a person's lifetime, rather than each year. Estimates for the number of people with these diagnoses can vary quite a lot but the most recent reported findings are

  • There were 39,818 knife crime offences in the 12 months ending September 2018.

  • This is a two-thirds increase from the low-point in the year ending March 2014, when there were 23,945 offences, and is the highest number since comparable data was compiled.

  • These statistics do not include those from Greater Manchester Police because of data recording issues.

  • Out of the 44 police forces, 42 recorded a rise in knife crime since 2011.
